Cistus
Also known as rockrose, cistus is one of the earliest aromatic substances used in the ancient world. It is widely used in the perfume industry, especially for aftershaves and skin conditioning products.  The resin which is distilled protects the plant from the environmental stressors of excessive heat and dry conditions, making it an excellent addition to skin moisturizers and skin firming products.  Cistus has been used to help bronchitis, colds and coughs as well as insomnia and nervousness.  Excellent for wrinkles and for mature skin.

Therapeutic Properties: antimicrobial, antiseptic, antitussive, astringent,, balsamic, emmenagogue, expectorant, and tonic.

Application: apply to areas of concern.  Blends well with bergamot, calamus, clary sage, cypress, lavender, opopanax, patchouli, pine, sandalwood and vetiver.

Aromatic: has a warm, sweet, dry, herbaceous scent

Contra-indications: avoid during pregnancy.

LeAway

Ingredients: catnip, citronella, eucalyptus, cedarwood, clove, cinnamon berry

Insect bites can be dangerous as well as just annoying, but slathering yourself with chemicals may not be the best solution to the problem. LeAway is a synergistic blend of some of the essential oils most often used to repel insects.
Application: Add to a carrier of your choice and apply over exposed skin surfaces. Be sure to cover yourself well, including hands and feet. Reapply after swimming or perspiring heavily.

Comprised of essential oils mentioned in the Bible (see Exodus, chapter 30); expels disease and dead tissue; tones the body; an immune stimulant; effective against colds and flu.

Ingredients: basil, hyssop, calamus, myrrh, frankincense, spikenard, cinnamon
Affinity for: immune system
Aromatic Considerations: not recommended for diffusing
Application: dilution is recommended because the blend contains cinnamon bark; apply on the appropriate points on the feet; directly on area of concern.
Resonance: high frequency spiritual oil that acts dramatically in the physical plane.
Cautions: contains cinnamon - should be diluted well before skin contact.
LeSunburst
A favorite among citrus blends; relaxing and calming, especially for children; promotes a sense of well-being and is an excellent remedy for insomnia; good for energy on waking; has been used in treatments for anorexia and bulimia because of citrus oil content; useful for circulatory problems, varicose veins and lymphatic congestion; an immune stimulant; useful as an antiseptic; anti-bacterial in the washing machine, dishwasher or throughout the house

Ingredients: sweet orange, tangerine, lemon, citronella, grapefruit, spearmint, lemongrass
Affinity for: circulatory system; immune system; lymph system; emotional stability
Aromatic Considerations: diffuse to purify the air, remove odors or just to enjoy a delightful citrus aroma (put on a cotton ball and simply place it on a desk or in a vent).
Application: apply over heart; place on wrists; use as a perfume or cologne; add to bath water.
Resonance: physical and emotional
Birch (Betula lenta)
Has a cortisone-like action, making it useful for muscle and bone pain. Other uses: arthritis, rheumatism, tendonitis, inflammation, acne, bladder infection, cystitis, dropsy, cramps, eczema, edema reducing fever, gallstones, gout, infection, hypertension, reducing discomfort in joints, dissolving and reducing the pain of kidney stones, draining and cleansing the lymphatic system, obesity, osteoporosis, skin diseases, ulcers, and urinary tract disorders.

Citronella (Cymbopogon nardus)
Belongs to the same family as lemongrass and palmarosa; combined with cedarwood, citronella makes an excellent insecticide; citronella may help with colds, fatigue, flu, headaches, minor infections, migraine, neuralgia, excessive perspiration, and oily skin; can be used as an antiseptic to sanitize and deodorize food preparation surfaces; this oil is hardly ever used alone in therapy, but is a valuable addition to many blends.

Treat Your Health Problems At Home,
Before They Become Emergencies! Drug Free!
ESM has been around for over fourteen years.  It was developed by
Dr. Victor Frank who wanted to help his patients help themselves.
Dr Frank created TBM which has been used by chiropractors worldwide
for over 30 years.  ESM is about 10% of TBM. It is a 30 hour class taught
over four days.  The cost is $350.00 with a $50.00 discount given for
bringing a friend.   Special discounts are also offered for those willing
to host a class.   ESM is a fast and easy way to access the body's computer.
It helps eliminate energetic blocks which impedes the body's ability to heal.
A manual and an ESM tool are included in the cost of each seminar.

A Must For All First Aid Kits

My name is Kathy Wilson.  I am a certified instructor of the class.  I first learned about ESM from a chiropractor ten years ago.  As no one was teaching the class in my area at the time, ESM allowed me to buy the book.  Four years later I took the class.  I went on to learn other modalities of healing including TBM, foot zoning, herbs, Reiki, cranial sacral, and Kinergetics.   Last year, when a friend became pregnant, I watched ESM corrections help keep her healthy, as she had become quite sick with other pregnancies.  To me it was a miracle.
I called ESM Seminars and asked to take their instructors course.

I am amazed at what ESM can do.

Health Tip
by Valaree Sharp
Our sense of balance is the result of many aspects of our body working together.  Some of the body parts that aid us in balancing ourselves are the eyes, the muscles, the skin pressure receptors, the joint sensory receptors, and the inner ear.  These parts work together to deliver signals to the brain.  These signals inform the brain about the position of the body and about the various aspects of the body’s motion. The inner ear has the most important role in this process.  The inner ear monitors the direction of motion of the body.  This monitoring includes turning motions, leaning forward and backward or sided to side, and any up and down motion we may make. The organ in the inner ear that relays this information about motion is called the labyrinth.  The labyrinth has 3 semicircular canals by which it identifies motion.  These 3 canals are called the superior canal, the posterior canal, and the horizontal canal.  These canals are filled with fluid.  The brain is informed about body position and movement by the motion of the fluid in these canals.  The slightest problem in the labyrinth can have a dramatic effect on communication with the brain and on the sense of balance of the individual.  Problems in the labyrinth could include pressure build up due to too much ear wax.  Ear wax build up can be the body’s response to injury; it puts the wax there as a protective barrier.  Another problem could be inflammation caused by an infection.  A neck injury such as a whip lash, etc. can cause the labyrinth to become ‘tweaked’.  This misalignment puts pressure on the inner ear.  It is also important to consider that an injury anywhere along the spine can cause the neck to become misaligned, even if the vertebrae are not out of place.  The misalignment of the neck, in turn, causes the ear canal to sit differently than it normally does.  The root of the problem with balance may not be the inner ear at all but, rather, in the back, hips or neck.  Cranial sacral therapists have had great success in straightening the canals of the inner ear and removing the pressure that is being put on the labyrinth.  Ear candling is a great way to remove any ear wax build up that is creating pressure.

Benefits of Ear Candling
by Sue Barney
Ear candling is a safe, simple, non-invasive, natural alternative practice that has been known to remove earwax and other debris from the ear canal.  There are many potential benefits that have come about from the use of ear candling.

Reduced ear pain
Reduced stress and tension
Reduced ringing in the ear
Relief of swimmer's ear
Relief of dizziness
Improved sense of taste
Clearer thinking
Reduced pain of possible tears in the ear drum
Equalized pressure in the ear

Supplies needed:

-          2-8 ear candles
-          Paper plate or aluminum pie tin
..........(cut a hole in center large enough for the candle to slide through)
-          Large bowl of water
-          Scissors
-          Matches or lighter
-          Towel

1.  Have the subject (person) lie down with one ear facing the ceiling.
2.  Place towel over hair, neck, etc.
3.  Insert candle through center of plate/pie tin.
4.  Light the large end of the candle.
5.  Place smaller end of candle into the ear.
6.  Hold the candle perpendicular to ear.
7.  As the candle burns, the ash at the end will need to be trimmed with scissors at least every inch.
To do this, remove the candle from the ear and trim the candle over the bowl of water.
8.  Repeat trimming the candle until you are 2-4 inches away from the end of the candle.
(You should not use more than four candles per Ear during each session.)
9.  When you are done with the first ear, continue with the next one.
