Cumin
(Cuminum cyminum)

Cumin has been known as a spice since biblical times and has been used throughout history as a means of barter and exchange;  cumin is a warming  and anti-inflammatory oil which can be used to help relieve muscular pains and the pains of osteoarthritis;  has been used as a stimulant for the digestive system in relieving colic, flatulence, bloating and indigestion; is considered an excellent nervous system tonic and is often employed to relieve headaches, migraines and to relieve nervous exhaustion;  said to be useful with asthma, bronchial spasms, and spasmodic coughs;  being a warming and stimulating oil, it is considered beneficial for ridding the body of accumulated fluid and toxins and for increasing circulation and lymph drainage;  there are strong indications that it acts as a thyroid stimulant
