Used for many years as an herbal remedy, but fairly new in the essential oil world; prominent use is as an aid in digestion and as an expectorant for the lungs and bronchials; the herb is often used as a poultice for boils, cysts, and inflamed tissues - the oil should be even more powerful in those applications; stimulates perspiration to reduce fevers; excellent source of natural iron, silicon, sodium and thiamine; excellent reputation in conjunction with insulin for use with diabetes
Therapeutic properties: emollient, expectorant, anti-inflammatory, anti-septic, sudorific
Application: dilute well for topical application
Aromatic: diffuse (if you like the aroma - unique and quite strong)
